It’s Never Too Late!

I’m sure you’ve noticed that it’s been quite awhile since my last post. I took that time away from blogging to start a new chapter in my life. I’ve always enjoyed providing real-world leadership and management advice but wanted to take it to the next level. So last year, I enrolled in a coaching class. Now, as a certified executive, leadership and career coach, I can take a more hands on approach to Manage Fearlessly. I’m excited to start this new journey and hope you will stay with me as I continue to share what I can to help you with your challenges and opportunities.

When I was growing up, people went to work for a company, stayed there until retirement, collected social security and well, you know, eventually passed away. Life today is so different and so much better.

These days, according to a report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median number of years workers stay with one company is down to 4.2. And that’s a good thing. In our parent’s generation, and even in mine, people stayed in jobs and with companies that at best, they were bored with, and at worst, they hated. Now people not only change their employers, they change their careers.

More and more, people are discovering they have the ability to course correct their life. Not everyone has a passion they can parlay into a sustainable career. In fact, according to Designing Your Life, 80% of all age groups don’t really know what they’re passionate about, and so most of spend out lives determining what we don’t like and what can keep us engaged.

So unless you’re one of the 20% who can actually “live your passion”, just keep reinventing yourself and find a new path to travel.
